Thank you for the AMAZING support of our community fireworks display! July 4th, 2019 was a wonderful night in Lewes! (see video below to relive it!) Thank you for hearing our message and working with us to make it a great success. We so appreciate our donors and all of you who arrived early, stayed late, watched from town, biked, and walked. We showed that we could work together and have a great night in Lewes.
Sadly, we have been forced to cancel our 2020 fireworks, rather than postponing to Labor Day weekend. It's been a terrible Spring and Summer for our community. Delaware is still under a State of Emergency that mandates social distancing and prohibits large public gatherings. Unfortunately, this prevents us from having fireworks, which is the type large event that is prohibited under current Delaware regulations.
We are already planning our 2021 fireworks! We are also seeking sponsors and donors to fund the 2021 fireworks and need the help of the community to make our fireworks fly over the bay, as, expectedly, few donations were made in 2020. This a community event which is funded solely by local residents and businesses.
We know how hard our small businesses have been hit. We aren't asking restaurants, retail shops, or other closed businesses for a penny.
Instead, we are asking those who have been less impacted to
lend a hand this year.
We appreciate your support at every level!

During the Summer of 2017 a group of local business owners, Lewes citizens, and representatives of the City of Lewes decided to form an organization to bring official fireworks back to the city of Lewes. We believe that safe and legal fireworks along our beach is the perfect ending to the Lewes' Old Fashioned Fourth of July festivities, which include games on Second Street, a boat parade on the canal, and the Lewes Doo Dah Parade. Fireworks on the beach are a Lewes tradition. Go Fourth! was formed to make sure we would always have fireworks on Lewes Beach on the Fourth! Our first fireworks show on July 4th 2018 was a huge event and the kickoff of this new annual tradition. We fine tuned in 2019 and are dedicated to making the show better and better every year.
Go Fourth! is managed by the Go Fourth! committee of volunteers which includes representatives from the Lewes Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lewes. While we have had great cooperation, assistance, and participation from the City of Lewes, along with personal support from Mayor Ted Becker, the fireworks are not funded by the City of Lewes. All funding is from donations from local individuals, businesses, and organizations.
PLEASE sponsor or donate. This show is for the people, by the people. We need you to make the fireworks fly on the fourth!
