Donations to Go Fourth are Tax-Deductible
Go Fourth is a component fund of the Greater Lewes Foundation, as we do not have our own independent 501(c)3 designation. All donations are processed on our behalf by the GLF, and thus are tax-deductible.
All donations are acknowledged and a formal letter for tax purposes will be provided from the GLF for donations in excess of $250.

Why Donate to Go Fourth Lewes? We are "For the People! By the People!"
- The Go Fourth Fireworks are truly community fireworks, funded by our neighbors and organized by volunteers. We are not sponsored by the City of Lewes or any other entity, but we work in collaboration and cooperation with our local government, police, fire, EMS, and other organizations.
- So, who pays for the fireworks? Donors. That is why we need your help. We know it's been a difficult year for our local businesses, so we are asking our neighbors, who are able, to pitch in with donations. Big or small, we appreciate and need them all. Please try to donate annually if this is a valuable Lewes tradition to you.
- Fireworks are expensive, and our present costs are pushing $100,000, as costs increase every year. Expenses include the professional fireworks show by Schaefer Fireworks PLUS the barge to launch the fireworks, compensation for emergency staff and law enforcement, facilities clean up, Porta Potties, and much more. It costs a lot to put on a show like this. Private donations pay for this beloved event.
- All donors are acknowledged and thanked, by level, on our website and in an ad in the Cape Gazette.
- Donations over $250 will receive a formal tax acknowledgement letter.
- Donors who donate over $1000 can request a donation picture for press submission and submit logo for website display.
- New for 2026! We have "We Support Go Fourth Lewes Fireworks" signs! Let us know if you would like to display one.
This is not an invitation solicitation for a few, so please don't wait for a letter to ask for a donation. Go Fourth Lewes wants to reach out to everyone in our greater community who enjoys the July 4th Fireworks and ask all to donate!
